Healthcare Social Network for those in Health Care and those who Need Them
Being a parent is undoubtedly the best and most difficult job in the entire free world! You truly can not explain the anxiety, joy, worry and frustration that you go through to people without kids. Sleepless nights, countless looks into the monitor because one of our top priorities as parents is to protect our children at all costs.
From car accidents to bumps on the head, there are so many things that can happen to a child, even if you just turn your head for a second. Many things are not avoidable and kids are going to get hurt at some point, but there are things you CAN do to help protect your children from that dreaded hospital visit!
I try to keep up-to-date on the latest safety recalls and precautions, but this one really shocked me. One of the most common injuries and even fatal accidents when it comes to babies and toddlers is furniture falling on them. We baby proofed our house (and even our parent's houses!) but never thought about our children being capable of pulling unstable furniture on top of themselves. So, now I am passing along the word: secure your furniture! We ordered online for leveling feet and bought the rest of the anchors at Home Depot.
Don't take any chances when it comes to your child's safety. It literally takes minutes to do and costs so little, the outcome: no worries or hospital visits! Pass this along to others with children and keep our children safe!

Comment by Dr. Steffany Mohan on February 5, 2013 at 6:44am Accidents that children face by Furniture falling on them is totally the parents fault! It is important you make your house child proof. Get your furniture fixed and ready for children running around them. This is the basic thing a parent can do to enure child safety at home. Thanks for spreading the awareness.
